Changeling Productions gave Duncan Clarke a tricky brief – we needed good media coverage and reviewers for a site-specific production, The Last Wilderness, in a remote area of the North Pennines and there was little time for this to happen. Duncan proved more than equal to the task securing for us better and more significant and targeted media coverage than we had before and he persuaded reviewers to travel some distance to cover the performance. This raised the profile of the company’s work considerably. Duncan is one of the very best press officers I have ever come across. He appreciates how difficult and how nerve wracking it can be to properly review a show. He makes everyone feel welcome and comfortable, all information is to hand and seating requirements are no problem. I can appreciate how self- centred, and rude, some of the more flamboyant critics can be, but Duncan remains unflappable. Many press officers are difficult to get hold of, especially on the morning following a press night, when critics can get anxious about small but important details.
